2. MUNRO Boards off To Nescafe' Big Break
MUNRO Boards owner Adam Zemunic has been selected as a semi-finalist again this year for the Nescafe Big Break. Adam submitted his concept of mountain boarding and the need to grow the sport to battle for the grand prize of $100,000. “It has been a long road to get MUNRO Boards and the sport where it is today and there is only so much I can personally fund. The Nescafe Big Break would certainly allow me to share this awesome sport with so many new faces. I’m pretty pumped.”
The winners will be posted on http://www.nescafebigbreak.com on July 19 so keep your fingers crossed. 3. MUNRO Filming Sessions - A Success The MUNRO filming sessions have been a huge hit with mountain boarders across Victoria. So far filming sessions have been held in Mt. Macedon and Melbourne CBD, with Ballarat next on the cards. Both sessions have had extremely strong turnouts and some unbelievable riding has been captured. MUNRO would like to thank the whole community for their support so far and hope to see you all again at the following events.
Next filming session: Ballarat, Victoria Date: Saturday , July 8 More details: e-mail team@munroboards.com 4. MUNRO Tech Tips on Video
This month, we are introducing a new feature to our website - instructional videos. These videos will help riders tune their boards and we hope to answer some frequently asked questions.
This months video is how to change a tyre tube, and this can be found in the videos section of the website. We plan to release a new video every month, so keep coming back to view the latest vids. 5. News From Camp U.K With the U.K. series in full swing, it is hard to find time for other events. Out To Grass have managed, with the "OTG/SCUZ Team Challenge". This event involved teams of 6 or more riders, racing and scoring points for their team.
Most riders arrived on the Saturday for some practice, except for the more patriotic riders who were at home watching England in the World Cup. Saturday night was very chilled with beers, bands and fire poi. Sunday saw some amazing racing, on a very technical track. The track was suitably nicknamed "Roller City" due to the amount of rollers, triples and step-ups on the track. In the end it was MUNRO-UK owner/ rider Tom Stanley with "Team North" that brought home the gold. All in all it was one of the best events of the year, props to Out to Grass for making it happen.
