The International Mountainboard Riders Association (IMRA) has been set up by riders, for riders with the purpose of becoming the sport's governing body worldwide.

The IMRA are endorsing several international events for 2006 including The Mountainboard World Series, The World Freestyle Championships, The World Downhill Championships, and the newly introduced European Cup.

The IMRA fills a huge hole in the industry left by the exit of ATBMAG several months ago. Among its duties, the IMRA provides riders from around the world with a standard set of competition rules, competition structure and results system.
